GIRL POWER BIZ CAMP
A 1-week program for high school girls that takes place in New York, July 23rd ~ 27th. Participants identify social or civic issues teens grapple with and create a short-form video series. The episodes can center around a variety of issues like; gender equality, bullying, environment, health or human rights. Students brainstorm and create concepts, design and develop branding strategies and produce videos. They then have a rare chance to pitch their ideas to executives at the award winning Al Roker Entertainment. The content must creatively educate, inspire and empower other teens. It’s a dynamic opportunity for students to learn how to use technology as a tool for good.
A 1-week program for high school girls. Participants identify social or civic issues teens grapple with and create a short-form video series. The goal is to provide a hands-on experience in digital content creation and strategy development.
The program takes place Monday, July 16th through Friday, July 20th at Al Roker Entertainment’s production studios. Each day the program runs 8:30 am – 4:30 pm and continental breakfast as well as lunch are included.
Participants collaborate in teams of 4 to develop their strategies and produce a video content series. Each team will receive mentorship from professionals and industry thought-leaders will share insights throughout the week.
Applications to attend the program should include answers to all questions on the registration form. No prior experience is required to participate. Include a YouTube link to unlisted video (1-min or less) sharing who you are and your thoughts on how the program will benefit you both personally and professionally.
There is no cost to attend the program. Space is limited and registration closes on June 15th. Once an application is received we will review and extend an invitation via email by June 22nd. There will be an alternate list in the event of cancellations.
All applicants must be local and available to participate for entire length of program. We do not provide travel and accommodations. For more information please refer to our FAQ section.
